शिक्षाक्षेत्रे लब्धप्रतिष्ठोऽयं गोरक्षनाथ-राजकीय-संस्कृतमहाविद्यालयः चत्वारिंशदुत्तरनवदशशतात् ख्रिष्टाब्दाद् (1940) आरभ्य स्वकीयं महनीयं स्थानम् आदधाति। महन्तश्रीमौक्तिकनाथराजगुरुणा सिरमौरजनपदस्य नाहनस्थे सुप्रसिद्धे कालिस्थान-मन्दिर-परिसरे गोरक्षनाथ-संस्कृतमहाविद्यालयस्य स्थापना कृता। मानवजीवनोत्कर्षकाणां शास्त्राणाम् अध्ययनाध्यपने संलग्नायाः अस्याः संस्थायाः महत्त्वमुपयोगिताञ्च दृष्ट्वा हिमाचलसर्वकारेण राजकीयसंस्कृतमहाविद्यालयरूपेण अस्य अधिग्रहणं कृतम् छात्रेषु उत्तमगुणाधानेन, इयं संस्था समर्पितराष्ट्राणां नागरिकाणां निर्माणे विविधान् आदर्शान् स्थापयति।

शिक्षा आध्यात्मिकम्,बौद्धिकम्,शारीरिकम्, मानसिकञ्च विकासं करोति। अस्मदीये महाविद्यालये छात्राणां व्यक्तित्वस्य सर्वाङ्गीणविकासाय शैक्षणिक-सांस्कृतिक-सामाजिक-नैतिक-मूल्यवर्धकानां कार्यक्रमाणां शृङ्खला अनवर्तम् आवर्षं परिवर्त्तते। नेशनलकैडेटकोर-राष्ट्रीयसेवायोजनयोः सञ्चालमप्यस्मिन् महाविद्यालये भवति। छात्राः एवं विविधाभिः प्रतियोगिताभिः कार्यक्रमैश्च कौशलापन्नाः लाभान्विताः सन्तः आत्मनिर्भर-भारतस्य सङ्कल्पनां परिपूरयन्ति। तपस्या समं भवन्ति ज्ञानप्राप्त्युपायाः। एतन्निमित्तम श्रद्धानिष्ठाभ्यां सहैव अनुशासन-जिज्ञासा-स्वाध्याय-प्रतिबद्धतादीनां परमावश्यकता भवति। एतै गुणैः युक्तः छात्रगणो भवतु।

छात्रहिते सदा निरतः, अस्य महाविद्यालयस्य सुयोग्यःआचार्यवर्गः कर्मठः अत्यन्तम् अनुभवी च वर्त्तते।

तस्मात् अस्माकीनाः छात्राः विविधासु प्रतियोगिपरिक्षासु उच्चस्थानं प्राप्नुवन्ति। सविश्वासम् आशासे अहं यत् गरिमामयीं परम्पराम् एताम् अग्रे अनुसरिष्यन्ति भवन्तः। सश्रद्धाः निष्ठापूर्वकं भवन्तः शिक्षकाणाम् आशीर्वादात्मकं मार्गदर्शनं प्राप्स्यन्ति।

भवन्तः सर्वेऽपि स्वकीयं स्वर्णिमं लक्ष्यं प्राप्नुवन्तु एतन्निमितं महाविद्यालयः सदैव कार्यरतः भविष्यति। अतः भवन्तः अपि स्वलक्ष्यं प्राप्तुं बद्धकटयः भवन्तु-

"उत्तिष्ठत जाग्रत प्राप्य वरान्निबोधत।"

The Gorakshnath State Sanskrit College, which has gained a reputation in the field of education, has been occupying its noble place since the year 1940 AD. Mahant Shri Mauktika Nath Rajaguru established Gorakshnath Sanskrit College on the premises of the well-known Kalisthan Temple at Nahan in Sirmaur district. Seeing the importance and usefulness of this institute engaged in the study and teaching of scriptures that enhance human life, the Government of Himachal acquired it as a Rajkiya Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya.

Education promotes spiritual, intellectual, physical and mental development. Our college continues to offer a series of academic, cultural, social and moral value-enhancing programs for the holistic development of students' personalities. The National Cadet Corps and National Service Schemes are also conducted at the college. Students thus fulfill the concept of a self-reliant India by benefiting from various competitions and programmes. The means of attaining knowledge are equal to austerity. For this reason, along with faithfulness, discipline, inquiry, commitment to self-study, etc. are essential. Have a student body with these qualities.

Always engaged in the welfare of the students, the well-qualified faculty of this college is hardworking and highly experienced.
